Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. It is constructed of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes a fluttering "B" paperweight keys, as well as a booklet featuring never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a company which takes its aesthetics seriously. It's evident in the exact placement of its quilting, the selection of leather from by-products of cattle, the wood from sustainably managed forests and the unique patterns on its levers. As you approach a car like the Continental GT W12, its sculptural beauty is displayed through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. Its rear tonneau for example, showcased the largest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this bespoke design, attention to detail and craftsmanship to detail that have established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues to push boundaries with the latest technology and craft, including the introduction of the digital instrument cluster, an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof, a custom-designed docking station for Apple iPads and electrochromic smart glass that can be changed from transparent to opaque with the push of a button.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in the year 2019 one hundred years after it was founded. The marque, currently owned by Volkswagen without a partner following years of dispute with BMW and BMW, had planned a number of special events and launches to mark this historic occasion. Design

Bentley is known for its luxurious and ostentatious automobiles, but even keys are designed to stand out. The Mulsanne was redesigned and developed by Bentley Mulliner to become the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to give passengers the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The custom heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system was developed to give every passenger the ideal temperature control.

Alongside a range of stylishly executed styling changes and a host of elegantly executed styling changes, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine that produces 560bhp and 479lb ft of torque. This colossal power is enhanced by a new suspension system that provides bentley smart key's hushed, quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a specific specification that is known as the Centenary Specification for cars that were built in 2019. The cabin is equipped with cross-stitching and bently Key contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests, seats and other areas of the car. This makes it more fun to celebrate. The Centenary Specification also includes a bespoke Bentley keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key features an open button on the trunk, and another button that can start the car. The key also has a button to turn on the parking brake. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors while parking in tight spots. This feature makes it easier to get into and out of your car.

Each Bently Key takes two days to make. It is cut by hand, shaped, sewn, sealed and polished to give an extremely high-end finish. It is sturdy and compact, and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design resembles the Volkswagen Phaeton's big car key, but it feels heavier and more luxurious.

It also comes with Secure-A-Key which can help prevent theft of keys that are keyless. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob and is turned off after a few minutes of inactivity. This prevents thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design reflects company's values of excellence in craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and modern technology. More than 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, which is responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley automobiles. They employ skills handed down for generations and apply them to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry. This is the hallmark of British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own car. The guests sit at a collection of images called "mood stations" and pick a set of images ranging from scenic landscapes to sporting events that inspire them. Every time a choice is made the pattern that emerges shows the model preference for color, style and design for the personalized Bentley.

The resulting configuration is stored on individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys which are handed out to the guests in a handmade key case. The keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps, which illuminate the door-opening pathway with the owner's name or logo as they approach the vehicle.

Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The refusal to embrace modern technology is the primary factor to this time-consuming effort. Instead of making use of a machine to space the perfectly-matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spots drivers must do it by hand.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization skills with a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. Edition, which pays homage to founder William Osler Bentley. The limited-edition cars come with the key with a special design that shows a portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
