Easy to install

Fiat 500 Replacement Key Fob 500 key covers are an easy way to freshen up your car keys. They come in a variety of styles and colors so you can pick the perfect fit for your style. Install them yourself within ten minutes. You'll require a screwdriver, Fiat 500 Replacement Key Fob as well as some patience. The first step is to remove the previous cover from your key. This has to be removed before the new cover can be fitted.

After removing the old cover You can then use a flathead for prying the four main attachment clips out of the passenger side of fob assembly. These are marked in red on the image below. Also note the locating tab slots in yellow that need to be disconnected as well.

Replace the old battery with a CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is aligned to the opening on the fob and that the"-" negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.

Replace the cover of the passenger's side mirror by aligning the locating tabs. Once you've completed this, put the driver-side fob back into your car and test it. Press the push button at the front of the key. If everything is working properly, the parking lights should be turned on and the doors will automatically close.

After you've removed the metal keys you will discover a small silver metal switch with images of a padlock that are locked and unlocked beside it. This is the key fob battery switch. It is simple to replace the battery by turning the switch half turn with a small screwdriver with a flat head.

The key fob has an internal microchip that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert your Fiat key it presses a button on the ignition switch that is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then read the transponder on the key fob to confirm that it is valid.
